This video shows the experimental portion of the CHEM 213 "Electrochemistry I" lab. (A separate video shows data analysis for the same lab). This experiment has two parts: in Part A, students rank Mg, Zn, and Cu in order by their activity. In Part B, students build voltaic cells, observe the voltage across them, and compare the observed voltage to that calculated from standard reduction potentials.
