Though patient care by nature is interprofessional, the undergraduate
education of health care professionals rarely is. High-fidelity simulation is
unique in its ability to allow learners to practice interprofessional patient
care in a realistic but low-risk environment.
The presenters will share three years of challenges and successes in
creating and implementing a simulation-based curriculum teaching teamwork
(using TeamSTEPPSTM) and inpatient clinical skills (using common inpatient
urgencies and emergencies) over nine sessions to undergraduate medical,
nursing, and pharmacy students.
