Episode 2 of
Ruminations speaks to the timely issue
of how faculty respond to incidents in the classroom or on campus, which
directly affect our students. We discuss the following:
- What is faculty’s responsibility in creating
safe environments for learning?
- Consider incorporating a classroom/campus
incident into the day’s curriculum with relevant context.
- What can you do if you feel unprepared to handle
incidents of race in classes where the discipline does not have a direct focus on
race?
